Anyone know anything about this Chinese web site registry?

I just got an email from www.chinesenic.net -- apparently in Shanghai, saying they are the "department of registration service" in China. They say another private corporation there has applied to register some domains that are the same and/or similar to a domain that I own and have used for many long years.

chinesenic.net has asked me to respond, to let them know whether I in fact own the original domain, and whether I am affiliated in any way with the corporation applying to them for registration (I am not related).

So just thought I'd check in here and see if anyone knows whether chinesenic.net is legit. Seems to be from what I can find googling about hither and yon.
