A few times when I've been angry about racial/ethnicity issues not being treated well here on DU, (or in the world in general) and I've gone 'a googling'--I've encountered this website.
One of the issues were cartoons that have been banned by the studios that originally produced them (also known as The Censored Eleven in animation circles). I was shocked to see so many (on public forums, blogs, etc.) going ape shit over the fact that these cartoons won't see the light of day. People blatantly defending racist animated features, with all of the usual stuff comments that I know I don't need to share here. :eyes:
The other time I encountered the site, was when I googled just a few nights ago. I was angry and frustrated over comments Gwen Stefani made in Bust magazine in response to Margaret Cho's criticism of her "use" of four asian back-up dancers. I was pleasantly surprised to find intelligent responses on this website/blog to both of the situations.
Anyway, thought I would share it here.
