A hypothetical I was presented with

Suppose what you know to be God speaks to you and tells you that the religious right is correct and God believes homosexuality is a sin. What do you do? This was asked in the other forum and got various answers. I am wondering what this forums take on it is.

2. This is an impossibility. God wants justice.

So, whatever that voice is, it ain't God.
This is why I don't respond to hypotheticals.
But, in case it should come up...yes, I'd react violently to someone attacking my own hypothetical child.
Any others?

4. Try to reason with him

er Him, and get Him to change his mind. Before I take my toys and go play in the Atheist sandbox, I'd try to persuade Him.
I might sound unorthodox, but well, that's the way God made me. :P None of us is truly lost, not even God. And I know that sounds blasphemous to some. Let me explain. I believe that God is a living growing being, just as we are living and growing, albeit at an infinitely advanced level from us. I believe that's what he meant when he said "Let us make man in Our image." And yes, there are intimations of that in the bible.
Remember Abraham and his Vaudeville routine with God about how many decent people in Sodom and Gomorrah he can find before God destroys it? He whittles God down from finding 50 people to 1?
Then there's the entire idea of Jesus. A deity who learns what it is like to be human in his brief 30 years.
I think the message here is that God is open to persuasion from a decent and just argument. So it makes sense to me that He would be open to conversation on being gay (or any issue, for that matter.)
I've read that the original meaning of the word "Hebrew" is "one who wrestles with God." I sincerely believe Christianity lost something here when we started emphasizing that perfect obedience is a good thing. It's a good thing human children obey their parents certainly. But I argue that it is not something thinking adults should aspire to, especially in regards to believing the lie that we should only like and interact with certain people purely for superficial reasons, such as whom we are attracted to. I'm with the others here in thinking that this doesn't sound like God at all. That isn't the infinite love and total acceptance that periodically invades my heart. :D
