Anyone have personal experience with Christian Science?

Hi--just dropping in from other DU places to ask this question. I have come to realize that there are many people at my child's PK-8 school who practice this form of religion, including a fair percentage of the admin. and staff. (It is a private school.) I have some familiarity with the precepts and the history, but I am wondering why some friends and acquaintances are upset by this situation. (All I can determine is that there is no sex-ed and no school nurse.) Thanks in advance for any insight. PS--we used to be regular subscribers to the Monitor--a great paper in its day.
