Classic Soft Rock Collection INFOMERCIAL |
|
Okay, I'm in a hospital waiting room and it's 3:15 a.m. and the TV has switched from programming to all infomercials for the next two or three hours and this THIRTY MINUTE commercial for soft rock hits of the Seventies is on.
ANNOYING!
IT is hosted by the guys from AIR SUPPLY.
I SURVIVED THE BIG FOLK MUSIC SCARE IN THE SIXTIES.
Then there was DISCO. Then Ronald Effing Reagan.
Shit.
:wtf: :freak: :hurts:

1. The funniest thing about this commercial for me... |
|
...which in retrospect is probably more pathetic than funny, is that the one and only time I saw it, it sent me into a fit of nostalgic downloading (or attempted downloading, at any rate, 99% of which failed the first time and which I cancelled after coming to my senses) for stuff I can't even really say I like. Little River Band, that sort of thing.
No real reason to be nostalgic for when I was 8-9 years old, either. That time in my life mostly sucked.

2. A lot of that music is what kept me sane through a really suck childhood. |
|
I was glued to top-40 radio from about 1978 until 1987. During that period I also learned about metal, classical, jazz and progressive rock.
There is room for Little River Band, King Crimson, Iron Maiden and Jean-Luc Ponty on my hard drive. They're all there to please me at a moment's notice. :)
