| The blue grossbeaks are here! We only see them for awhile |
|
in the spring. Haven't seen any rose breasted grossbeaks yet, and we didn't see any evening grossbeaks this past winter. We have bluebird babies in the nestboxes, and a nest full of wrens in an azalea bush. I hope we get some mockingbird babies this year. They are my favorites.
Happy Spring!

| 2. I live in North Georgia, and we do have quite a variety. |

We've had a bird feeding station here for 26 years. It's better than teevee!

| 4. When did you last see Evening Grosbeak? |
|
It's been about 12 years since I last saw some here in s. Wisconsin. They used to be a regular winter visitor.
There was a rash of reports of Blue Grosbeak here last spring, prompting speculation that it is undergoing a range expansion, along with other southern species (can you say "global warming"?). I have yet to see one, though.

| 5. Sunday, May 14th, I saw the male 1st, then the female, but I haven't |
|
seen them since. I haven't seen the blue grossbeaks again since the initial sighting last week. It has been much cooler in May after an unusually hot April, here in Georgia.
