Anyone got this yet? I recieved a copy for my birthday, and I have to say I'm sort of disappointed. I expected more information than is presented. For example, no detailed information on breeding, nest types, nest locations, etc., which is something you'd think would be in such a weighty tome.
It's my current bathroom reading, and so far I've not gotten any insights I haven't gained from the Sibley big book or field guides. I'm thinking that for a decent reference, I'm going to pick up the Smithsonian books - these are split east/west and devote a whole page to each species. These are beefy books and definitely NOT field guides, but I think that if I go whole hog into the breeding bird atlas, I will need one of the eastern volumes. Some of the data in the Smithsonian volumes that I haven't seen elsewhere included flight patterns, nest shapes and locations, etc.
