so... a Rose-breasted Grosbeak stops by my window

I break out the camera. He is positioned so I can't quite get a picture of his chest. Slowly turning to me as he checks me out I am getting excited...

*beep beep* comes from camera

*beep beep* again as the bird is perfectly facing me for a shot.

Camera goes black.

:cry: My batteries died! :cry:

I only see these guys sparatically early and late in the season.

1. Similar things have happened to us all.

I can't tell you how many times I will see a bird that I want to photograph, but in the rush of getting my gear together I forget to put the memory card in the camera. :eyes:
