I kept hearing that very mechanical- sounding call while we were walking in a local park (alas I had forgotten my binoculars) and I was curious...

1. Is it like a tapping, a squeaking, or some other sound?

2. no it sounded really metallic, like a machine... and I don't think there was a

machine operating since it was Easter in a park... I guess you could think of it as a very rapid tapping with a kind of squeal built in, it that makes any sense.

I listened to a lot of wp calls online and none of them quite sounded like that. :shrug:

That might be it.

4. no, it wasn't that since we hear em all the time - one wakes us up with some

frequency.


Maybe it was a machine of some sort.... :crazy:
