4/20: Haven't worked out yet, but still hoping to--What about you?
I had a friend over last night and we played cards until early in the morning. It was to difficult to get out of bed this morning, so I did not make it to the gym.

I'm hoping that when I get home, I can set the steaks to marinade and then go for a jog while they soak.

Then I'll throw them on the grill.

1. did it early
I have appointments this afternoon so I had to get it in early.

Did the bike thing around the park this morning. A little over three miles...tried to gauge my peddling to 40rpm or so....that's hard going up the hills...worked up a good sweat so I think it served it's purpose....I'll probably do a mile walk this evening if the rain holds off.

2. Leg Day, 7:30 am - somewhat distracted though
I figured out it was because the gym had a radio station on with a lot of chatting between songs. . .chatting during exercise makes me crazy!

So i guess I gotta plug myself into an iPod or something during Leg Day.

3. An mp3 player in the gym is a must
Especially on back, leg and cardio days. Also, don't get too involved into your music. I lost concentration doing flat barbell bench press. Good thing I don't use collars. The plates just kind of slid off the side and I managed to rack the other side before disaster. Moral of the story, don't lose concentration while doing an exercise that can end your life.

4. Was running late this morning....
but did manage to squeeze in Power Max. Had to cut 10 minutes though, or my boss wouldn't appreciate it. (Actually, she probably wouldn't appreciate me posting at DU whilst at work.)

5. overhead squat day
Did overhead squats. Finally started adding weight to the bar and did a few easy sets @ 95 lbs until my left hip got tired from all the stretching. Did some other lifting and called it a day.

8. UPDATE: I did get in a 1/5 mile run
Edited on Thu Apr-21-05 10:03 AM by MissMillie
Unfortunately, I didn't have my good running shoes at home (they were here in my locker) so I didn't want to try for 2.0 miles.

I wanted to add this cute little story.

When I went to run last night, there were a bunch of little league events going on and lots of parents around. As I circled the track again and again, I noticed one couple that was right up against the fence. When I came near them the woman, a very small-framed woman, said, "I don't think I could run from one set of arrows to another--YOU GO GIRL."

It's kind of hard to think of myself as doing something that a thin person "can't" do. (Of course they can, they just don't try!) Anyway, I thanked her for her vote of confidence.

9. I started running again this morning (Wed)
Friends at work (and here) are picking it up, so I thought I would as well, as I'd like to enter a marathon before I die (I'm not a runner). So that was at 5am, and I had my usual back/lats day at the gym this afternoon.
