Thursday, 4/28: I worked out today--did you
I was back at the high school track today. I was hoping to jog 2.5 miles, but my hamstring specifically told me to keep it to 2.0.

It was a very slow jog for me today. I don't know if it was the dampness in the air slowing me down, or if my body just wanted to be slower today.

How 'bout you guys? What is/was your activity today?

2. Pilates Class of all things -- I was the "new one" and kept tipping over!

I was the only one of my gender there, but I did the best I could.

Later, will hit the elliptical for 30 to 45 mins.

3. Yes
I am STILL sore from last week's 4 days in a row of heavy lifting...I did some deadlifts at 315 lbs, bench pressed, did some cardio. Easy workout today, and tomorrow too.

9. you must be really muscular
I can't begin to think about even moving anything that weighs 315 lbs., let alone "lifting" anything that heavy.

I'm betting you've been at this for a while.

10. No, not really
I build up a lot of muscle in my legs very easily, but I'm not particularly muscular in the upper body. Too much fat there too, but that's a work in progress ;-)

You usually do deadlifts with very low reps, like 2-3, which tends to build strength and not muscle mass. I also practiced the martial art aikido for seven years or so before getting into weight training, and for some reason aikido left me with very strong abs and back muscles, so the deadlift became my best lift very quickly. My personal max on it is 365, I think I can beat that now with some practice, whereas my bench is around 155 and squat is around 245.

Anyway, a deadlift of double bodyweight should be attainable by most people.

4. Yes, but in the 89-degree weather, I could only do three laps
instead of four. But that's okay. I'm not out to break any records -- just get a good workout! :D

6. I pulled my right calf Thurs morning
I ran a little further than I probably should have, and the pain is still with me. It affected my gym workout yesterday, as well. It was chest day, and it's tough to walk, carrying weights to a bench, when you're working with a bad wheel.
