Well it's been over 6 months since my last injury. Dead-lifts were creeping up, my bouldering was getting stronger, so it was time for a new injury. Last night I was at the climbing gym and went for the top out of a problem and missed. I swung sideways on the way down and rolled my ankle. It was at an unnatural angle and about a minute later it popped back into place. Went to hospital and it's not broken but it hurts like hell. Have to go to my doc/ortho on Monday, in the mean time they splinted it at the ER. A friend of mine did the same thing 2 weeks ago when we were in WV, he was told he had dislocated it and was put on crutches for 6 weeks.

It's certainly no fun to be injured (again!) and I know you won't like being out of commission. I hope it's not as bad as it seems and you're back on your feet soon!

2. I hurt my ankle bouldering years ago. |
|
Got it stuck behind a hold, I fell and the foot stayed. I snapped the ligaments. Of course I had no health insurance and was mainly employed as a climbing bum, which doesn't pay so well. So I never got it looked at. And my ankle has never been the same. I have maybe 3/4 strength in my left ankle now. Wish I had a "do over" on that one.
Sorry about your injury. It sucks to be sidelined.

Please be careful with that and do what the doctor tells you. Even if you have to wait 6 weeks or more to get back into your routine, it's better to get back to your routine later than not at all.
