I did it...lower back strain |
|
Doctor says my 315 lb deadlift last Thurs gave me a mechanical lower back strain :-( No heavy lifting with my back for a few weeks. The weight wasn't too much for me to lift, but I hadn't done heavy DL's for a while and clearly my lower back was no longer conditioned for it. That'll teach me!
THis means: I will spend more time doing the elliptical machine like a good hamster (running doesn't feel good right now), and I will restrict lifting to more upper body stuff since squats hit the lower back pretty well. I need to work on pullups anyway, since I can't even do 1! In 2-3 weeks I'll break out my kettlebells and work on those, and then will work some seated good mornings in to strengthen up my back once I'm pain free.

1. Please take care of yourself |
|
you'll return to full strength more quickly by taking your time (I know that sounds funny, but it's true).
