Leg ulcer keeping me awake tonight....
As much as I hate to skip a morning bike ride, I have been awake since 12:45am, after going to sleep at 9 last night, because the ulcer on my leg is almost healed up, but it's one of those kinds of wounds that drives you completely batshit while the nerves just under the skin are repairing themselves.

I have morphine tablets and hydrocodone that I can take, because when this thing first started to heal it drove me to tears. It's basically a 4" open would on my shin so that's to be expected I suppose.... Anyway, I've been able to avoid taking any painkillers most of the time, but tonight I had to give in and blitz myself back to sleep. I'm sitting here, having a bowl of butternut squash soup and waiting for this stuff to kick in. It's already almost 5am, and I have to be up by about 9:45 for work today.

I will take the pain meds when I go to sleep tonight, to help me get some unbroken rest for the first time in a while, and I will be up and out on the bike for sure. Then again, taking a day off now and again is a good idea anyway....

To those of you who do exercise or work out today, enjoy yourselves, don't overdo it, and get in an extra rep or two for the Giant, will ya? :D

1. Take it easy Gentle Giant
I'm a workout fanatic myself and I know how hard it is to rest when you need to. But you'll come back stronger if you do.

2. Peace to you, Gentle. I hope you get some good rest.
It's good to be cautious about using pain medicine but your doctor gave them to you for a reason.

Get some good nights' sleep under your belt and come roaring back in a couple of days.

3. Thank you both.
I left work early so I could come home and relax, because the morphine is 12-hour stuff and is only now starting to wear off. I was floating off in some other galaxy at work today. There should be no reason why I can't get up at the proper time tomorrow and have an excellent ride. I'm looking forward to it. :)
