It's Friday, 8/19/05. If you can't sleep you can still EXERCISE! |
|
Well, I just went out and got my morning bike ride. Problem is, this time it was on no sleep. Thank _______insert deity here________ that I don't work today, so I can just crash after this and go cash my paycheck when I get up. I really want to normalize my sleep pattern to match this new regimen I've put myself on, and all I seem to get is resistance from my own body. It sucks. Canal water. Through a straw. A big white one. With blue stripes. :grr:
Anyway, hopefully this, my 5th ride, will tire me out enough to get some semblance of rest:
Time (Tm): 37m 08s Average Speed (AS): 10.1mph Maximum Speed (MS): 16.4mph Distance (Ds): 6.27 miles
Hope your workouts today are insomnia free! :)

1. I'll be working out this afternoon |
|
Edited on Fri Aug-19-05 07:53 AM by MissMillie
Had to give my son a ride to work again this morning.
I hate missing a morning work out.... it's like my morning coffee.
Oh well, it's a jog day, and I love jog day, so I know I'll fit it in. I'll update when I do.
GG, have you seen a doctor about your insomnia?

11. I believe that in time it will pass. |

I'm usually not this messed up, but a number of things are contributing to difficulties in sticking to a daily sleep regimen. Mostly, I think it's just the fact that I've become a total night owl who likes to stay up until the wee hours of the morning and get up at the last possible minute. I'm more suited to turning in at 4am than waking up at that time after years of working late shifts and what not.
Of course, I also have recently quit taking a lot of pain medication for an ulcer I have on my leg. I couldn't sleep without bombing myself into oblivion to kill the endless impulses that traveled from my ankle to my knee 24/7. As soon as I quit taking morphine and hydrocodone I noticed a resistance to sleep. That is becoming less of a factor though.
If I can't get regulated in the next couple weeks I'll consider talking to my doctor, but any more drugs to induce sleep are out of the question. I need to be "with it" when I get up to ride my bike. Thanks for your concern though. :)

3. About a 1 hour workout with upper body weights and walking |
|
It feels really good to walk for a while after I am done lifting weights. I usually walk a mile after a weight lifting session.

4. I'm going to a private Pilates session today. |

I am still recovering from whiplash from almost two weeks ago but I'm making good progress. Tired of just sitting around and really looking forward to class. :hi:

12. It must give quite a rush though, |
|
and a feeling of satisfaction. 4mph is a pretty good clip to sustain for almost an hour. I can testify to that myself. :)

8. did a short bike ride this morning |
|
I knew I didn't have the time to do distance so I pushed it harder than I usually do...had it in "overdrive" for a lot of the way. Legs were "barking" at the end.....
