Gah! I have a cold! Gonna skip the workout this week |
|
Now I have to work on somehow not losing any weight until I can resume the work out. I did get to the gym for a good workout Monday, so that helps, but I don't think I'd be very good at this point in there, plus I'd get everyone else sick.
I'm gonna try to take my supplements (Creatine/NO) and protein like normal and eat as much as I can (though I'm not too hungry) and we'll see how it goes. In general if I just stop everything, by week two I'm losing a pound a day. Feh! It's day 3 of this cold and I still have a sore throat. I was hoping it would advance more quickly.
Stupid sick kids!

1. I hate it when that happens! |

Get on a good roll with the workouts and then bammo, sick as a dog.
I have found an amazing treatment for colds. It requires an somewhat open mind, but I swear I haven't been sick since I started this, and I have two little ones in preschool.
There is something called a neti pot. You can buy them at most natural food stores. It is used in India as a part of ayurvedic heath maintenance. It is a small ceramic pot, looks kind of like a teapot, but no top. You fill it with warm salt water, stick the spot in one nostril, tilt your head to the side and pour the water into the nostril. If you head is positioned properly, the water will drain out the other nostril. Sounds funky, but it is easy to do.
At the health food store, I found a solution of zinc, goldenseal and a few other things to add to the net pot solution. Now at the first sign of a cold, I do the saline/zinc nasal wash. It seems to stop the cold in its tracks. If you are congested, it is a great, natural way to help break the congestion up.
I know this is not for everyone, but I have had great results! Hope you feel better soon.

2. If you are supplementing with Glutamine, up the dosage |
|
it is supposed to help with this kind of thing. Just take it easy, and get better. Your body need to devote its energy to fighting this cold and you don't want to give it to others at the gym. Get well soon.
