Maybe my endorphin receptors or dopamine or whatever is just broken - that would explain a lot of things, many completely unrelated to this post - but I call BS on this line of thinking. I used to be an athlete, and I never had this response. Exercise is something you have to make yourself do because it's good for you - it's like eating veggies instead of cake. It's also something you can use to look down on people who don't do what you do - runners are notorious for this.
The purpose of this thread is: All right, now you convince me I'm wrong!

When I'm in a good exercise routine I have a lot of inertia to KEEP exercising. I certainly have my limits - if I were to take up running I would not then decide to start doing marathons, for example.
But, in general, exercise makes me feel great and so I keep it up! When it gets to be a big chore it's time to switch what I'm doing.

The more sore I feel the next day after working out, the more I want to get back in the gym and push it next time. Also there's a weird confidence thing that goes along with it; if I'm going I feel very confident about lots of things, and if I don't I kinda feel like crap.
When I'm away from the gym for a length of time (like 2 weeks), it gets hard to go back and I wanna just say "f*ck it!".
That's just me, though.

because it's NOT wrong for you.
There are those of us, however, that have found that feeling good involves regular exercise. I've been suffering w/ a cold since last week, but even w/ the cold I feel better when I've had my daily exercise.
I came off of anti-depressants this past year, and I am convinced that I was able to do it because of regular exercise.
This is what is true for me. I'm sorry that it's not true for you too.

It is not really a matter of want, more a matter of need.
I do find that if I am out of my routine for a while, it is hard to get back into the groove. But basically I feel like crap until I do, so eventually, I get it back into gear.
