Monday, 11/7: I worked out today--did you? |
|
:hi: Good Morning!
So my new and improved routine began in earnest today. I did 35 minutes on the elliptical machine.
When I went to the weight room I did upper body stuff (rowing weights, chest press, shoulder press, tricep extension, lat pulldown, pec, and the dip/chin machine). I used a higher weight than I am used to and I did 2 sets of 12 instead of my usual 3 sets of 10 (except for on the dip/chin where I did each exercise for 1 set of 12).
The trainer told me it's okay to be a bit sore after using the weights... and, well, mission accomplished. I know that tomorrow I will really be feeling it in my chest, shoulders, arms and back.
Tomorrow I will jog, and when I get to the weight room I will concentrate on abs.

1. I did! Kick boxing, pilates & yoga. |
|
I may be weird, but I love the "good sore" feeling the day after a hard weights workout.

2. I got dropped in my tracks by a nasty flu bug. |

I've been down for three days, finally feeling better today. It will be another day or two before I feel up to a workout. I miss it though and am looking forward to it.

my metatarsalgia is flaring up again. I had to do a very low impact step tape, which is okay, but I like to alternate days of low impact with varying impact, including sprints. The metatarsalgia prevents any high impact moves, which sucks because I know I have the energy to do it, but I can't. :-(
Hope everyone else is doing good, however. :-)

It was hard. I am *not* in the workout zone these days. Too many commitments, too little time. When I do workout, it is difficult because I am out of shape.
Oh well, the election is over tomorrow, so no more volunteer work for a while. And the bathroom I have been renovating should be done soon. Then I will get back at it.

bailed my flooded basement and hauled soaked carpeting, wood, furniture, books and comics to the curb. 12 hours is a long work out.
