It's quiet in here!
Though I've been working out, I haven't been posting. I've been alternating every morning between 35 minutes of the elliptical (I can usually JUST make 6km, which makes me feel like i am going super slowly!) and 35 minutes of a hatha yoga routine.

I was re-inspired to get fit for a run this coming weekend at Angkor Wat, which now looks like it isn't going to happen as my partner is travelling and won't get home in time for us to go...I could go by myself, but I don't know if that will happen.

What about YOU?

Jean Louise

1. I haven't been working out lately.
It's the end of the semester -- crunch time! I've had a lot of grading and I've been tutoring a high school boy across the street who, in exchange, is going to take care of our dogs while we're out of town over the holidays. I leave Friday for a cruise with my daughters and then we're going to Denver for New Years. However, I fully intend to get exercise on these trips. My daughters are pretty active and will want to exercise with me. Every semester, I have a new schedule and it will be easier to find time to work out with the next one.

Sorry about the run but good for you for sticking with your workout schedule! :hi:

2. I've been doing pretty well the past few weeks, too.
I know next week will be hard to fit much in cause the kids are off of school, so I am trying to do as much as possible now.

I have been doing mostly yoga, and trying to take longer, harder classes. I actually hit three in a row last week, Sat, Sun and Mon. I will make another today.

3. My workouts have been up and down.
I've been doing yoga, Pilates and recently started studying Qigong (not really an exercise per se, but there you have it). I had surgery last month and was diagnosed with cancer. Luckily I don't have to have any chemo or radiation, but I'm anemic and have been very tired and weak lately.

I did buy myself some pink boxing gloves recently and I'm going to take a few boxing lessons after the holidays at a gym near my house. Sometimes I feel the urge to hit things and I think that will be a good outlet for me. :D

So far, so good, though. :)

5. I've been a bad, bad girl
I don't know where my get-up-and-go went, but now I'm fighting a headcold, so it's not likely to come back soon.

I'm finding that I hate the way I feel, headcold or not. I miss the endorphins I got from exercise. I need to get it back--as soon as I can stop coughing.

7. 35 minutes? I get worn out after 2.5...
6 weeks ago I could do 12.75...

A year ago I could do 35.4...

I've started concentrating on upper body muscle development, but that much difference after 6 weeks, something ain't right...

8. Still in training
even though I have the week off from work, maintaining the routine is not an option for me. Still put in taichi practice on Sat, 4 mi on Sun, off Mon and Tues, to the gym for spin and taichi on Wed, 4 mi today. I plan on going to the gym for step aerobics and taichi. Note: the taichi (taijiquan for you purists) practice is my own. The gym's studios are available when the group exercises aren't in session.
