A question for the women on this forum. |
|
Maybe this isn't the right forum, but what the hell.
I'm not svelte, but I'm not fat either. I weigh in at about 160 & am 5'8". I wear a size 14 (soon to be a 12!) & I cannot find a pair of pantyhose that isn't tight, tight, tight! I purchased the Legg's queen plus size the other day, even though according to their chart, I'm on the low end of the queen size. They were so tight & they were hard to put on & they cinch my waist like a saddle. Also they split & ran when I put them on. Arghh!!!!
Normally I never wear them, but I'm job hunting & need to look professional. Can anyone recommend a brand that doesn't cut into the waist & isn't so tight?

1. I've had the same problem |
|
But like you I don't normally wear them, the last time was when I was job hunting too. I also had to get some size that was a lot bigger than the height/weight table on the package says. My nice interview clothes weren't very fitting so I didn't have to worry about the waist crushing. I don't have much of a waist anyway, so that part was worse. So I don't know a good brand, I just got a really big size and the waist issue was taken care of by my clothes.
I hope you get a better job, I'm much happier now! :hi:

3. I think it's time to wear slacks to my interviews. |
|
Arghhh!!!!
Thanks so much for your confirmation that I am not wrong on the size charts. I feel for women who are larger than I am. What do they do?
Thanks so much for your response!

2. Watch out for "Control Top" |
|
Almost everything available is :-(
Those size charts are completely bogus.
I wish I had more specific advice.

4. Perhaps consider thigh-highs? |
|
That would avoid the too tight panty problem.
I'm short so most pantyhose fit me. But I haven't worn them in a long while. I where knee highs with slacks.
I figure, if a place wants me to wear a skirt, there's a good chance I wouldn't be comfortable in that office anyway.

5. I tried the thigh highs. |
|
Not bad. I wasn't sure if they would stay up, but they were fine. There was a very unattractive roll of flab that oozed over the top, but with my dress on, it didn't show. ;)
I'm working on that flab, btw.
