Since joining the gym I've averaged about 4 - 5 times a week.
I added some strength training. I started out going to the weight room one night a week, usually on Friday afternoons since I leave early those days.
I've also added a class on Thursdays that combines Yoga and Pilates. Yea, it's intense. But also very relaxing. I've gone a couple of times now and and I do feel more flexible.
I've really beefed up my conditioning. I can do the middle intensity on the elliptical machine for 30 minutes. I do this 3 times a week. When I do strength training too, I just do 20 minutes of elliptcal.
In short, I've spent more time on strength training and a little less time on aerobic conditioning than I have before. I've finally realized I cannot lose weight just with aerobic conditioning alone.
So far I've lost about four pounds. I hope I don't plateau any time soon because I like this ride. :-)
As for diet, I've gone back to eating low carb. It works for me. I do not eat any grains or milk products because I have a sensitivity to both. My tummy is much happier too. Though once a week I might have a piece of potato.
How is everybody else doing? :-)

1. Have you tried interval training? |
|
That really helps burn fat. I really hate cardio so I can burn more calories in less time this way, and it boosts the metabolism. http://www.intervaltraining.net/

I had forgotten all about HITT. :hi:
In fact, I'll try it for my workout tomorrow. That video in that sight is really helpful. :-)
