Weight lifting and cardio question. |
|
I go to the gym three or four times a week, and while I'm there I lift weights and get in some cardio (about a half-hour of each general activity). Normally I start with my cardio and then finish up with weight lifting, but my dad *thinks* he read an article in some men's health magazine that it's better to lift weights first and then do cardio. I have been unable to find this article or anything useful on google. Any of you know?

As a certified trainer, I can tell you that what he read is accurate. Thing is, your weight training should be a cardio workout in disguise. Secondly, you want to have most of your energy and strength available for your weight lifting in the beginning.

I have to say since I started doing it his way, I've had a lot more energy during my workout.
