Just wondering, since the usage of the donkey came from reffering to Andrew Jackson as a jackass (dunno if it was an insult or a nickname).

Here are my suggestions:

The Scales of Justice-TAKE THAT GOP!

Lion-Lions can eat young elephants, you know?

Tree-might be a little hippish, but emphasizes an environemntal agenda.

AND guys, a donkey really is smarter than a horse, in that a horse given free access to grain will literally eat itself to death (will eat until it colics and dies); a donkey will NOT... a horse will drink water when it is overheated and colic itself to death; a donkey will NOT... a horse is a WONDERFUL, free spirited animal but a donkey is a lower-key smarter version of an equine!

Dragon-I was think about this. I'ts a pretty good suggestion excepts the fucking fundie pharsies are going to yell out "THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY HAS SATAN FOR IT'S MASCOT!" and start giving lectures about satan in the book of Revelations(they believe the Bible literally, ya know).
