Dem Senators who voted for 700million railroad for Mississippi |
|
Below is a list I found of those Dem Senators who voted for the bill containing the 700 million for the railroad in Mississippi. I am very surprised at some of the names. Am I missing something? How do they justify this vote?
Akaka (D-HI) Baucus (D-MT) Byrd (D-WV) Clinton (D-NY) Dayton (D-MN) Dorgan (D-ND) Feinstein (D-CA) Harkin (D-IA) Inouye (D-HI) Jeffords (I-VT) Johnson (D-SD) Kennedy (D-MA) Landrieu (D-LA) Lautenberg (D-NJ) Leahy (D-VT) Lincoln (D-AR) Menendez (D-NJ) Mikulski (D-MD) Pryor (D-AR) Sarbanes (D-MD) Schumer (D-NY)

my two Senators Clinton and Schumer on the list. I wonder if there were any Riders or Amendments on the Bill we're not yet aware of?

4. To replace a line that just cost $250 million to repair |
|
As I understand it - the casinos and developers want the railroad removed.

5. Hmm I believe Senator Dorgan (NDakota) would have voted for this amendment |
|
since it contained funding for emergency assistance in his State. As usual the only way to get help for emergency funds is to also allow pork-funds like the Mississippi Railroad.
I believe this measure is the only way Dorgan could recieve emergency funds.
Sucks, but it happens all the time in our hallowed halls of Congress.
