The enemy understands that the surge into a civil war and more American deaths has caused dissension in the United States and they therefore see Bush/Cheney's ideas as helpful to their cause.

1. Yeah, even immediately before the crack down terrorists were more easily brought to justice.

2. True - police work was needed - and instead we got bombs and collateral damage and

a major increase in folks that hate us, and an increase in the portion of that group that want to be terrorists.

Plus we get stuck in a civil war - indeed today's Pentagon report used "civil war" for the first time! :-(
