2. What is shameless about laughing at a joke? |
|
That blog is a nasty piece of right-wing propaganda. He can shove his POV. I will laugh shamelessly that the writer feels that Scarborough is a liberal!

23. Shameless=without shame |
|
The blogger obviously feels that laughing at Palin is something to be ashamed of. If so, there must be a lot of red faces around.

Reagan was seen as a similar unelectable, unqualified loose cannon at one time.

5. Reagan was by that point a hard-nosed political veteran - |
|
- who had years of experience dealing with the roughest and darkest parts of politics, and who had developed some canny political instincts to help him do so.
The Gipper might have been an absolutely loathesome figure of American history, but anyone who doesn't think that he was a truly formidable political figure is kidding themselves. Whether it was in the smoke-filled room, on the campaign trail, or in a debate, Reagan was a political force to be reckoned with, and that was precisely what made him so dangerous.
Comparing him to Palin is frankly ridiculous - in any sort of encounter between the two, he would have torn her apart. If Palin does run for President, she will not be another Reagan - she will be another Barry Goldwater, only worse. And we all know what happened to Goldwater in 1964.

6. Reagan was intellectually lazy, like Palin |
|
Biden tore her apart in the debate, but her performance was passed off as acceptable rather than an utter embarrassment.
Twenty or thirty years ago, someone like Palin would concern me less. In the current environment, complete with our fact free media, I can't help but see her as a threat.

21. Just like bush jr.'s debates were passed off as acceptable. |
|
I quit taking the NY Times after one of the '04 debates . Bush seemed like, if he were in a mental institution, he would have needed a quiet room. He was ridiculous. NY Times just stated there was a debate. Bush's performance was like a C comedy movie.Just not real. Like Palin.

He was able to amass a very large war chest and the Republican establishment fell in line behind him. Those two things will not happen for Palin. She is a media creation nothing more.

by the corporations that run the country. They wouldn't have to keep her drunk and medicated like bush. Remember when he was in Europe and his poop was in the states secret category. Kept for national security by the securers.

I have pointed out many times how Reagan was considered a joke when he ran against Ford for the nomination in 1976. He probably wouldn't have been elected had Carter not had the Iran hostage and Arab oil embargo around his neck. And I still can't understand how Bush got re-elected after his first four years of screwing up.

If he didn't steal Ohio, he wouldn't have. Ask Mike Connell, oops, oh yeah, Rove had him killed before he could spill the beans.

We came to know Palin when she ran with McCain. We saw her hateful supporters at her rallies. Her numbers are only good with her supporters. One can not win without the independents. Independents are moving back to Obama. It looks like the strongest repubs are not running (Thune, Pence), but I think Huntsman is the one to watch. He will come across less scary and will more than likely fool independents. Palin has most of the money now and money is the name of the game. Repub primaries will be decided by tea baggers.
It is going to be a wild ride. I hope the repubs tear each other apart big time.

Except that she has that Rethug shill machine known as Fixed News. They enjoy pumping out the propaganda for all of the nut jobs, and would no doubt try to funnel a huge war chest her way. That's scary, right there.

No one is buying anything that Fox Friggin' News is selling! They've got the dain-bramaged 25% watching and nodding like rear-window bobble-heads on a cobblestone road, and that accounts for their ratings, but 25% percent of the electorate isn't going to win Caribou Barbie a damn thing. Their audience has plateaued and is dying off.
IMHO, our time is better spent pressuring the corporation-humping "Democrats" toward policies which help people than sweating over a never-gonna-happen scenario like this greedy, grasping, air-headed, hypocritical, spiteful cipher somehow seizing the presidency.

22. I watched her show for the first time |
|
I got through a few minutes of it.
Politics completely aside, pretending I'm looking at a total stranger doing what she was doing, climbing a rather large rock.
OMFG is she a whiny, preachy, annoying woman! Her voice just grates on me.
On that alone there's no way she can beat Obama.
I'd have a problem voting for her if she were the second coming of JFK.

Right now Palin should be laughed at. The most she could win is dog catcher, but not in her home state of Alaska...maybe Texas or Arizona.
