| 1. Thank you. I've been trying to remember the name for years. |
|
Years ago I went to an Irish dance in Buffalo, NY, and wound up moving down the dance floor in the Siege of Ennis. It was a revelation to me, and for years I've tried to remember what I danced, besides the fact that it was "The Siege of ____" and involved everyone in the entire room.
I've been meaning to take Irish dance for years and have kept putting it off.

| 3. I picked it up at an Irish Festival a few years ago |

and for the longest time I thought it was the "Seige if Venice" until I decided to join a Ceili(set dancing) Club and make of a fool of myself, "can we do that Venice dance?"
It's generally the easeist dance to learn. The hardest is is the Dubliner but when you get it right, it's really a satisfying feeling. Here in my area there are several Ceili clubs that offer lessons and a Ceili night for a nominal fee, usually 30 bucks for three months to cover the cost of the rec center that holds it. On one particular night of the month, they'll bring in Irish musicians and it's a party with a workout. The crowd is generally older, which is too bad because I'm sure in Ireland almost everyone learns to set dance.
