1. The best of luck, John...
You'll do great. You loved your nana very much, so it will come from the heart.

:hi:

3. a few word.........
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

4. That's nice, John. When is the wake?

Is the family having a memorial service or just a wake?

6. One suggestion
Don't feel obliged to follow that old line about only speaking good of the dead. At Hubby's great-aunts's funeral yesterday, the minister made her sound like a plastic saint, always sweetness and light. No mention that she was also vain and sometimes foolish, no attempt to speak of the real woman, no humor to make you smile and think "yeah, that was her!" Let me give you a "for instance."

She had shared a room in the nursing home with her sister, Hubby's grandmother, for a couple of years and one of his aunts said "The two best friends are back together again." All I could think was "Yeah, but I bet they have seperate rooms, now!" They drove each other crazy on a regular basis, but that's just the way it was and how they were; I'd rather remember her without the air-brushing.

8. I saw your draft over on the Catholic forum
You'll do just fine. My post was more a reaction against my own experience than anything else.
