| Would this be worth my time/gas? |
|
I don't know much about comics but I was wondering if these are worth anything? I have a set of the X-Men Age of Apocalypse comics, and the complete set of trading cards that went with it. Would it be worth the gas to take it in to town to sell?
I'm seriously broke and just trying to come up with some $$$.
Thanks for any advice.

| 1. You should call the shop. |

It's hard to tell because there have been reprints and such, but if they are the originals you might have something there.
Call the shop and they'll probably be able to help you out.

to assess quality and completeness of the set.
Unfortunately, like many comics from the comics-boom early 90s, the print runs on popular titles like this were astronomical. Speculators bought certain titles by the case, thinking they had their retirements covered. Unlike Action Comics #1 (first appearance of Superman), however, the more copies printed, the greater the likelihood that there will be more copies available in years to come. Thousands of comics retailers lost their shirts in the comics crash of the mid 90s, and the industry has never fully recovered (competition with movies/video games, etc.).
Your best bet may be to enjoy the thrilling story, and then look for a p/t job.
