I am especially fortunate in that I had a life of my own long before I married, and so while the end of the marriage was traumatic and difficult, it wasn't as hard for me to readjust to single life.

I can honestly say that there are things I miss about my ex and about being married. I can also honestly say that in my most optimistic fantasies of the marriage not ending, I would not have made the move I did to a different part of the country, where I currently am. I have a very good life now. Had my marriage not ended, I would be quite content, and I know that. But it did end, and I've wound up with something immeasurably better.
