Are complaints about Jon's vacation time fair? |
|
There seems to be a meme developing that Jon Stewart takes more vacation time than Bush*. I haven't done the math, but I don't think that the amount of time that the Daily Show is not in production is excessive, compared with other TV shows, and especially compared with the norm for Comedy Central. Sure, I would love it if it really were like a news show, on every night, but I think we have to accept that it really is an ENTERTAINMENT show... and frequent breaks help keep the writing fresh.

They work four days a week and grind out some of the best comedy on television. They deserve their vacations. If it helps keeps Stewart and company happy and they keep coming back I'm all for it.

It's fucking WAY hard to do what they do. WAYYYYYYYYY hard.
SNL does it (crappily) once a fucking week.
Take as much time as you need guys.

I don't know of any other show that is on more than once a week.
