Fat jokes

I was so disappointed that both the Daily Show and the Colbert Report went for fat jokes in discussing Gore's Oscar. I'm not fat, I'm not in Gore's camp, but the news parody and social commentary that gained them popularity has been sharp, insightful, and witty. We're down to fat jokes now?

1. There's always been a mixture

Insightful political satire has jostled with fart jokes, poop jokes and other infantile material as long as I can remember. As Monty Python might say, "kid's stuff, they tend to like that sort of thing".
