Someone in the lounge was kind enough to send me over here. This is my first visit to the Languages and Linguistics Group. Hello! Anyway, the following link is about Neil Finn (and is in English):
http://www.yle.fi/akuutti/arkisto2001/060301_c.html ...but the rest of the site is in Finnish. Can anyone translate? Based on what Neil wrote it sounds like it might be pretty progressive and therefore of interest to us folks on DU. That's why I'm curious.
For those of you who don't know Neil Finn, he's a singer/songwriter formerly of Crowded House and Split Enz who is so amazingly talented it makes me dizzy. He's my favorite musician in the world. The more I hear him say about the world (at shows and in interviews), the more I appreciate him as a human too. His lyrics aren't terribly political but I've always suspected he is a liberal. At a recent show I got confirmation on that because he called Shrub a fascist (YAY! It's always nice to find out someone you love so much is also a liberal!). He also said some pretty amazing things on the link above (which was written before 9/11).
