These are two languages that I have attained a degree of fluency in. I have looked on the 'net for a history about the transition from Latin to French (this began with my picking through a passage of the legend of Sir Perceval, which is old French) and have been unsuccessful. It's got to be a hell of an evolution, since French doesn't make its Latin roots obvious like Spanish and Italian do. Anyone know any good sites, or want to tell me the highlights? I'm particularly interested in the evolution of grammar, endings, etc.
