I have a question for you auto enthusiasts.
This will be a little off-topic, I imagine, but we are getting desperate.

Our 2008 Sprinter 2500 van won't recognize the smart key to let us start it.

Does anyone here have any idea what the problem is and how to fix it?

The Freightliner dealer here doesn't know.

1. Call a Mercedes dealer service department.
The Dodge/Freightliner Sprinter is a "rebadged" Mercedes. The SmartKey design is all Mercedes, and they should have your answer.

I think.
