Oh frabjus day! Calloo callay! Yes gang, I'm chortling in joy too. And are all my liberal blogging friends feeling beamish? What a night last night was! And the beauteous news just keeps coming. As I type this on the afternoon of the 8th, CNN is reporting the Democrats now have the Senate 50-49 and might just sneak in that one last seat too, plus Rumsfeld has stepped down. Can it get any better than this?
It can! Because
Carnival of the Liberals #25: The Meta-Political Edition is here. Richard at
http://pixnaps.blogspot.com">Philosophy, et cetera brings us 10 shining examples of high level political thinking. I'm always worried that these narrowly themed editions won't attract very many submissions, and I'm always wrong. What's more, the submissions continually exceed my expectations in terms of quality and thoughtful analysis. So thanks everyone who helps make CotL a success by going the extra mile with the posts they send in.
Carnival of the Liberals #26 will be hosted by Montag at
Stump Lane on November 22nd. I'm sure Montag will be posting his call-for-submissions soon and I'll send out a newsletter as soon as he does, but in the meantime I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. I'll be hosting the
1st Anniversary Edition of Carnival of the Liberals on December 6th at
Neural Gourmet.
Since it's CotL's birthday (
Carnival of the Liberals #1 was posted at
Brainshrub on December 7th, 2005) I thought we'd take a look back on the 2005-2006 season by asking everyone to submit their best post from the past year. There's only two caveats:
- No posts that have either already appeared in an edition of Carnival of the Liberals or have even been submitted before.
- Posts should be general in nature and not tied to something in the news cycle at the time they were written. In other words, I'm looking for those posts that could be considered timeless.
If that sounds a little vague... it is! After Montag's edition of CotL I'll post my own call-for-submissions and I'll go into more detail then. For now, I just wanted to get everyone thinking.
