There is so many Blogs. Why start an other one?
True that sometimes we may feel that the Boards or Blogs we visit seem all scattered around. The logical solution could be to open a new page on the Net.

Do we really want super specialized Blogs?

Isn't it pretentious to all want our own Blog?

Please don't take my questions for a criticism. I am the first one to look for a different point of view. About everything.

I am just trying to understand the need to start a new Blog and the need to read so many.

What's the meaning of that phenomena?

Is it the "new" cyber way of exchanging with other human beings without the threat of too much intimacy? A little like , hum...

No parallels.

Can I please come back I exchange with you Bloggers, so we can have a tentative definition about the purpose of it?

1. Why another blog? Am I understanding your question correctly?
This DU Group's mission is for current bloggers (and those wishing to start a blog) to discuss blog topics, HTML and formatting issues, etc.

We didn't form this group to question the merits of whether to blog or not to blog.

Blogs exist for many reasons and express many ideas on an infinite number of subjects... not just politics.

Do you have a blog?

Do you want to blog?

If so, posters in this group will share info on how to get started and (hopefully) what to do if you have trouble with your blog.

For example, I'm having trouble with my blogger.com template right now. I've only been blogging since last May, and I've turned to DUers for help with the code on many occasions.

The folks here at DU are extremely supportive and knowledgeable!

I detailed this group's mission in my ASK THE ADMINISTRATORS forum.

I'll copy and paste the mission in this forum later today.

Please let me know if I've understood your question correctly and if I've come anywhere near answering your question.

2. Because it's enjoyable.

We all have our own different purposes. I explained my own reasons in the initial post in this group ("Introduce your blog here"). But I suspect it all comes down to the fact that we do this because we find it fun and useful in some way.

But, to me, this question is like asking "Why post at DU? There are already so many other posters." Or "Why write another book/article/essay? There are already so many, one could never hope to read even a tiny fraction."

3. Hi there, Lise

I'm wrestling with blogging software right now to put up the site "FullDinnerJacket.com" -- in honor of Bush's military service. I swore to myself that if he was reselected, my comedian friends and I would nail him and his band of criminals everyday.

So, I have a very specific purpose. lol

And, no, I don't think blogging takes the place of other kinds of interaction. On the contrary, I think it gives people opportunities to hone their skills: reading, writing, relating.

4. Ty bloggers for your answers. I am humbly admitting
that I spoke(wrote) without thinking. The 3 of you who posted gave me a chance to "lightened up".

Could it be that I am a bit jealous of you?

Respectfully,

lise

It's fun! and mostly, for me, blogging gives me a way to hash out what I am thinking about. If anyone reads it, well, that's cool, but face it, I'm thinking about some weird stuff, so who wants to read it? I dunno ... we'll see. If I get readers, well, bonus! so there ya go! :7
