The site that hosts the Keyboard, Democratic Underground, is a great source of much information and wisdom, and a supportive community of progressives. It has, however, undergone a recent change which makes it difficult for Mom to continue working within it, and so the "Keyboard" is sadly being discontinued. It's possible that the change will be temporary. If so, the Keyboard will be up and running again!

Thanks to all who have supported the Keyboard with your attention and comments.

1. To clarify, especially for the poster who rated this post "skip it,"

there's only one change here at DU that I'm objecting to. That is the rating system itself. I've been here at DU many years, through many thousands of posts, and I've said more than once during that time that if we added, like some other sites, a rating system in which DUers rated each other, I would decline to participate.

I don't expect or ask anyone else to agree with me. And I posted this statement in an obscure forum, so that few if any DUers would see it. It was posted primarily for friends and family to whom I've given the link to my Journal, which I call DeepModem Mom's Keyboard.
