| Thank you DUers! Because of You I feel I can |
|
In my life I'm surrounded by a bunch of naysayers who criticize everything that doesn't fit neatly into their little box. Ever since I was little I heard no I can't. Even when I proved I could I heard how my achievements didn't rate that high.
I'd toyed with the idea of beginning a blog but the internal tape in my mind said, "Who would read it? Who would be interested?"
I have been a lurker here for a couple of years. I was afraid to post afraid that others would laugh at what I had to say. who would care I would wonder.
Thanks to the election of Obama and all the things that he's doing despite being told "No we can't and this won't work", I've decided to do two things. One thing is to become a lurker no more. To proclaim loudly that we are finally on the right track under Obama's leadership. I'm trying to work at speaing my mind.
I've also decided to start my own blog. It is about something I am not only interested in but I HAVE to do thanks to the failed economic policies of W. My hubby, a mechanical engineer with a masters degree lost his job the day before Thanksgiving. I am now supportng him, my father-in-law, two dogs, and myself on my salary and trying to save money using coupons. So that's what I'm writing about, saving money. Maybe someone will be interested in what I say and maybe not but I finally have the courage to say "Yes I can try".
I even took the risk to get someone to actually sponsor a contest on my site. I was shocked when they agreed to do it.
Anyway, thank you all again for giving me the courage to try. That's the important thing isn't it? Your dreams mean nothing unless you try. Because of you I've launched Thriftymave.com and I feel like a new mother.
