Native American Resource Groups
O-Si-Yo!
I work for a corporation which has a Native American Resource Group of which I am a member. Are any of you aware of other corporations who have Native American Resource or Affinity Groups? We just held several seminars on diversity best practices hosted by a tribal chief. We would like to identify ways we could support the efforts of other Resource Groups who support Native American concerns.

3. they are groups started by employees . . .
who share a common interest in supporting specific concerns (for example Native Americans, African Americans, women, GLBT, etc) as they relate to their company. These groups are often called affinity groups or resource groups. Our group is called Tribal Voices and we work to increase the presence of Native Americans in our retail industry. We work with our recruiters to focus more hiring on Native Americans and with our buyers to increase the number of Native American suppliers who sell to our company. We work with our diversity department to identify the best ways to donate money to Native American communities. This is just a few of the initiatives we are currently working on.

We are looking for other companies with similar Native American employee groups to benchmark against. We would like to meet with these other groups to discuss where we are headed and see if we can work with them to increase the presence of Indian Country. Does this help?
