| Chatting with Paul Bernardo? |
|
Edited on Fri Jul-01-05 11:39 AM by XanaDUer
Bernardo seeking CBC chat?PAUL BERNARDO may get to choose which media outlet gets to tell his story if he gets relief from a ban that prevents him from speaking to reporters, his lawyer said yesterday.
The killer has asked for "specific relief" from the prison-instituted ban that bars him from communicating with the media.
He's said to be anxious to speak about his ex-wife, Karla Homolka, who has been the focus of media attention and scrutiny as she completes her 12-year sentence for manslaughter in the sex slayings of teens Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy. Bernardo was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder in the slayings and was later declared a dangerous offender.
Correctional Services Canada would not provide the details yesterday on whether Bernardo was asking for permission to speak with one or several reporters, citing privacy restrictions...http://www.torontosun.com/News/Canada/2005/07/01/1113048-sun.htmlANDHolmolka Tries Again: http://www.torontosun.com/News/Canada/2005/07/01/1113049-sun.html

| 1. From what I understand, he has been turned down |

I have been reading a bit more about this case due to the recent release of Karla. She has changed her last name to Teal (sp?). Interesting that Paul changed his last name to Teal before he was arrested. I saw one reference to this and I'm not sure how true it is. But if it is true, why would she change her last name to the same as his? This case is strange. I am beginning to think that Karla is as messed up as Paul is and she should not be out there with the public.

What "right" does he have to speak to the media? I don't trust Karla. These two should have been put away for life, imo.

| 3. He spoke to the media via his lawyer |
|
http://toronto.cbc.ca/regional/servlet/View?filename=to-bernardo20050706Convicted killer Paul Bernardo has once again pointed the finger at his newly freed ex-wife Karla Homolka, saying it was Homolka who initiated the murder of Ontario schoolgirl Leslie Mahaffy.
Speaking through his lawyer, Bernardo insisted he had always planned to free Mahaffy but Homolka panicked and attempted to murder the girl.
Bernardo was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to life. He was later declared a dangerous offender, which will keep him in prison indefinitely.
With media attention focused on his ex-wife, Bernardo spoke out on Homolka, talking first with Ontario police on Friday, then with his lawyer Tony Bryant. I imagine he's hoping for more. Interesting that the article stated that he was becoming agitated because of all the press about Karla. Feeling 'forgotten', is he?

| 5. listening to hate radio |
|
waxing poetic on how much they don't want to hear bernardo anything; the fact is that the hate radio hypocrites (how they love that killer, bush!) are as boring and one dimensional drones with an entirely predictable set of opinion on everything they say: while bernardo is someone who threw his life in a garbage can to satisfy some indescribable lust, and the fact is paul bernardo and karla are alot more interesting as people, as sinners, as losers, as thinkers, as humans, then them murderous pigs who giggle hyhena-like in both the caller and host roles of hate radio...too bad bernardo et al never aim their lust at them pukes. besides, before they got sent away, both p and k thought exactly like the hate radio drones: they've obviously moved on beyond that now AT LEAST
