| Big Congrats to Rachel & Some Thoughts On Why She And Olbermann Are So Important |

I totally agree with .
Yes, we've got a LONG way to go before we get some real balance in the mainstream media, but this is a huge step in the right direction. Now we'll have TWO strong progressive voices in the MSM (I'm not counting PBS because unfortunately not enough people watch it).
It's funny, because people on the right continue to talk about liberal bias. Right, because two reasonable people on MSNBC are supposed to cancel out an entire network (Fox), Glenn Beck, Joe Scarborough and a host of watered down "centrists" who buy into and parrot Republican framing on 9 out of 10 issues.
At any rate, another big congratulations to Rachel (who is incredibly talented and totally deserves this) and kudos to Keith for helping to make it happen.

KO's ratings have done a lot to prove to those in the decision making departments that there is a huge, and largely untapped, market waiting to be served.
I think the other thing that is very important is that KO has become so influential. For one thing, KO has set a pretty high standard for reporting by taking personal responsibility for it. He's also taken flack for it but answers his critics. Rachel is the same way. She's responsible and strives to be as accurate as possible. I hope that their nightly block becomes a one-two punch that wakes up the American public to start asking more from the news media.
