I'm having a fundraiser for Nancy's former campaign manager, who is running for our county clerk/register of deeds. I've been working on her campaign. Well, she worked for Conyers for a couple of years about 7 years ago and knows him pretty well. At our state convention today, she talked to him and he agreed to attend.

3. Believe me, I won't be doing any cleaning

I have someone who comes in every two weeks, and she'll be here five days before that. I won't have to do more than a little straightening up (and closing my daughter's bedroom door). I'm actually hoping for a nice day so we can be in the backyard, although my beds are a mess -- it's been such a hot, dry summer, everything is brown and straggly and I won't have a chance to get out there to make it look any better. On second thought, maybe we'll be better off inside. I just know if we get a big turnout, my house won't be able to handle it without spreading outside.
