How are you? I am a zombie right now.

Haven't slept in over 30 hours.

Gave up trying last night, and ended up getting to work at 5:30 this morning, which for me, is absolutely unheard of.

Now I have to make myself stay up a bit so I don't end up waking up in the middle of the night. :crazy:

28. Various and sundry things.

For one, I've been doing Extreme Home Cleaning, and the dust and stuff gave me a coughing fit that lasted pretty much all night (this is what happens when you live in a house that's over 100 years old. It grows it's own dust, I swear. I decided to really go after the hidden nooks and crannies, those places that you no longer see after you have lived in it for years. :cough: :cough:

Plus, work has been insane this week (mostly in a good way), and so the night after the coughing fit, my mind was racing with thoughts of all the things I need to do by last week (at least, that's what the claims managers I deal with want :crazy: ).

So, no sleep last night either. I actually started getting tired about 3:30, but I knew if I gave in and sent to sleep, I wouldn't get up until way past time I needed to be at work, so I said heck with it, and just started my work day very early.

Now I need to make myself stay up for another couple of hours so I can sleep until about 7:00 tomorrow morning.

About 10:30, I went down to the parking garage and took a 15 minute power nap. It did help some.

Plus, my daughter came by for lunch today, so that was a nice respite.

56. Gosh, SG. I haven't done that kind of all-nighter pulling and power catnapping since college.

My problem is, I get too wound up from having to work a long time, and then can't sleep.

60. That's definitely contributing to it - the hyper mind over work thing.

I stopped napping after I graduated from college, but a few years ago, I rediscovered the benefits of it. Sometimes after spending a weekend with my family in Oregon, I start getting sleepy on my drive home. When I do, I take an exit and pull into a store in a busy area, but park away from most of the cars. I set my cell phone alarm and sleep for 20 minutes (sometimes 30, if necessary). Amazing how that little bit of sleep can help.
