Probably not. I really want to believe this story too much.

But there's this :tinfoilhat: part of me (ironic given my other recent post here, eh?) that says "What if a kid grew up somewhere...sheltered life...beautiful boy soprano...matured into a countertenor...with a thing for crossdressing...spends lots of time alone caring for ill mother...the two of them tell everyone else he is a woman...just a very shy and unattractive and socially inexperienced woman...even their church believes it...then after many years of isolation, he gets his chance for a big break..."

Naah. I want to believe the fairy tale.
