I hooked up my own version of chicken soup that does the trick too:

1 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon curry powder
chicken pieces (roasted or baked, thigh meat works best)

Put all of this in a small pot and simmer for at least 15 minutes and eat it while it's still hot.

It'll break up the congestion very well.

Adding: I saw on the Internets that you can warm oil with garlic cloves and drop it in your ear and it will supposedly unblock, but I'm scared to.
