Whew! An epidemic of stupidity has broken out in GD and GD-Pee |

I know...you're all saying "So what else is new?"
But right now, the Stupid is especially strong and the Demonstrations of Adult Cognitive Skills are at an all-time low.
The episodes of Keith-bashing, Rachel-bashing and antireligious crap (Wolvie, you'll be pleased to know I alerted on some posts in a thread you commented on and they are now gone) has been a real shitstorm of late.
Attention, DU: It's OK for Keith and Rachel to have different opinions from you about Obama's speech, and for you to have different opinions from them. It does not mean:
1. they are stupid 2. they prejudged the speech 3. they didn't listen to what he said 4. they want him to be Superman 5. they hate him for his eloquence 6. they have "turned" on him 7. they are "disloyal to our cause" 8. they are kowtowing to their corporate masters 9. they are doing it just for the ratings 10. they are doing it just to prove they are not Obama's flunkies
Nor does it mean:
1. YOU are stupid 2. YOU didn't listen to what Obama said 3. Keith and Rachel need to be Superman and Wonder Woman 4. YOU have to defend Obama and shred Keith and Rachel to bits just because you support Obama 5. YOU have to stop watching Keith and Rachel 6. YOU have to prove you're superior to everyone by saying you never watched them anyway/you stopped watching Keith in 2008 when he became a Hillary basher/you threw out your TV in 1972 and have been blissfully happy ever since.
So...why, pray tell, are you acting like it does?
Also, attention all atheists: If you are so damn pissed off that some people believe it is impossible for you to have a "moral compass" because you do not have any religious beliefs, try proving to us that you do have one. You can start by letting your moral compass point you in the direction of tolerance and acceptance of people who do have religious beliefs, even if you don't share them. You can stop performing blanket condemnations of all believers as stupid, ignorant, silly, superstitious people who all commit great evil in the name of their beliefs. Try that, and I'll say "Yes, it IS possible to have a moral compass without religious beliefs, and you are living proof." Thank you.
