THAT one used to drive me crazy -- i.e., certain evangelical Christians' insistence that anyone who talks about different translations of the Bible, specific meanings of the words employed, etc., is trying to pull a fast one on you and is not right with the Lord. :eyes: I wish I were kidding but I'm not.

And of course anyone who knows a foreign language also knows that translations vary wildly and can often be improved.

They kept trying to tell him "No, it was," but he kept telling them they were wrong, it wasn't. Well, of course he turned out with egg on his face because soon he found out it was. He actually had to re-tape his whole segment with them for the re-air!

I honestly can only listen to the news in small doses. While in the car, I was listening to Randi and nearly drove off the road in disbelief and anger. Apparently in some community, the Catholic Church had a carnival, and one of the "attractions" was a gun shooting target, which gave out prizes if you hit the person in the head or the heart. The cutout was dressed as the president. :grr:
