I don't care for his position on Iraq AT ALL, but, to say he is a DINO or a member of Likud is just ignorant! There are some 20 threads about him in GD and GD:Politics, many of them with the 'frothing at the mouth' haters. Some people are so damn short-sighted! "I'd rather a Rethug take his seat!" :wtf: I am sorry, but Joe is one of the more liberal senators, EXCEPT when it comes to this war and national defense, then he does look like a Repug.

It is this "eat our own" mentality that the right-wing has harnessed. We do more damage to our cause then they could ever hope to accomplish!

But it doesn't matter. If Joe wasn't a Jew, I think many of them would be lost. How could they blame Israel? They lucked out and know that Joe the Jew is a chicken-hawk (he never served)so he makes a great target.

The sad fact is that I feel there will have to be another Holocaust, but after 60 years, our descendants (if we survive round 2) will be having the same conversations on the web or in the air or whatever the new technology permits.

8. Have you gone to the Israel/Palestine forum on DU?

There's a lot of scary stuff there. I have several right wing Jewish friends who are convinced that the Democrats are run by Hamas (I'm kidding, but only a little) and I hope they don't browse around on that section of DU or they'll have plenty of ammunition to make their case. There are several Israel defenders that effectively argue our case, but the intensity of the hatred for Israel is apparent. Fortunately, the mainstream of the Democratic Party doesn't give these types the time of day.

I am passionately in favor of a left-wing State of Israel, and I think neither side will like me much--Likud is far too right-wing for me, but I won't compromise in my support for Israel's right to exist (and need to exist, to be a safe place).
