A fun ride in the ambulance
I take about thirteen pills a day.

Like many people who take a large number of pills, I keep mine in a pillbox with separate little boxes for the days of the week. I do keep one prescription by itself, because I have to take it three times a day, and because all those pills do not fit in the little daily boxes.

Last night, I woke up at 2:30 a.m., convinced that I needed to take two more pills. I thought I had forgotten to take them before bed. The odd thing is that I don't take any pills before bed. I take the last ones about 7:30 p.m.

I got out my pillbox and downed all the pills for NEXT Thursday. I went back to bed, and did not get any sleep. I kept getting sicker and sicker. My heart rate slowed to 58, 57, 54...

Then, about 4:00 a.m., I remembered taking the pills. I still don't know why I did that in my sleep, but I knew it was time to call the ambulance. I threw up before they got here, which may have been a good thing.

The hospital kept me for about four hours, checking my vitals and doing some blood tests. I think they gave me some meds, but I can't remember. Anyway, I am fine now.

I decided to keep a notebook with my pillbox. I write down what I take and the time. I don't know if that will keep me from medicating while sleeping, but I hope it stays in my mind that I have to think about what I am doing.

1. Wow! I'm glad you're ok now murielm99!
Do you take Ambien? People who wake up after taking Ambien do some weird things. I think that was Patrick Kennedy's excuse.

Sometimes I take my morning pills in the evening instead of my evening pills, but luckily the only thing that happens to me is that I'm up all night.

Stay well.

2. I don't take Ambien.
If I did, I would hide my car keys. I have heard those stories about Ambien. I think I was just having a dream and I got confused.
